Hong Kong has set up its first ever locally-registered official business group in Myanmar as the National League for Democracy-led administration seeks to bolster the economy and attract more investment.

The Myanmar Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MHKCCI) was registered and approved by the Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration (DICA) in February. The chamber has received recognition by the Myanmar Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, according to the organisation’s press release.
